Ani Difranco
Angela Maria Ani DiFranco (born Angela Maria Ani DiFranco) is a American as well as a Canadian musician and singer. Over 20 albums have been released by her. DiFranco describes her music as folk-rock and alternative. However, it contains influences such as hip-hop, punk and jazz. The widely regarded feminist icon Grammy winner Ani DiFranco is the mother of the DIY movement, and was among the pioneers to establish her own label the year 1990. DiFranco has two daughters: Elizabeth (Ross), and Dante Americo DiFranco. They began their relationship at The Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her father is of Italian roots and her mother was Montreal-born. Ani Difrasco composed and recorded the hit song "32 Flavors". This song appeared on her 5th studio album Not a Pretty Girl which was released in the year 1995. This song appears on the film's soundtrack the Canadian romantic drama Better Than Chocolate from 1999. DiFranco apologized to host a seminar in Louisiana at an old plantation for slaves. She cancelled it however many (including this piece) did not show any remorse. DiFranco released a new apology a few days later. Although she's known by the name of Little Peoplesinger, she has been in contact with a myriad of musicians and artists from Pete Seeger through Chuck D up to Prince. She lives in New Orleans. Ani diFranco, and Kristen Ford are together. She started writing songs when she was 14 years old. They were performed in bars and coffee shops throughout her teens. DiFranco, who graduated at the age of sixteen from Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts High School, was the first to study in Buffalo State College.
