Julia Fiona Roberts is the daughter of Betty Lou Bredemus, and Walter Grady Roberts. She was born on October 28, 1967 in Atlanta. Her family is the fourth Roberts family that lived in Atlanta. The story began with her great grandfather John Pendleton Roberts who was an agriculturalist. Her father's passion for theatre was inherited by her. in theatre from an early age. When he was studying at Emory University in 1952 he performed in shows on campus as well as in other parts of Atlanta. After joining the airforce, in 1953 he appeared in an airforce production in Biloxi with Betty Lou Bredemus. They got married in 1955. Their first baby son Eric Anthony, was born in 1956. Walter went to Tulane University New Orleans Louisiana following his departure from the Air Force in the year 1957. Walter began his work at Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio in 1960. Walter as well as Betty Lou produced a Saturday morning show on local television for kids known as Bum Bum and His Buddies in 1964, a project they self-financed. In 1964, Walter and Betty Lou established The Actors and Writers Workshop. The workshop lasted 6 years. Lelisa Billingsley often referred to as Lisa was born in 1965. Julia Billingsley followed in 1967.
